About the Guild

The True Republic

The True Republic is a Republic-side SWTOR guild on the Darth Malgus server, founded on 9 August 2026.

The guild was created with a simple goal in mind: to build an active and welcoming Republic community where different kinds of players could enjoy the game together without turning SWTOR into a second job. We wanted a guild that could be organized and ambitious when it mattered, while still remaining relaxed enough for people to play at their own pace.

From the beginning, The True Republic was open to new players, returning players, experienced veterans and alts alike. We did not want the guild to become a place where only high-end players felt useful, nor did we want it to become a large but inactive roster that existed only for passive bonuses. The idea was to create something in between: a guild with a real community, regular activity, shared goals and enough structure to keep things moving.

That idea has shaped the guild from its first days and continues to guide how we grow.

Our Story

The True Republic started from scratch.

There was no established player base behind it, no previous guild being renamed, and no long-standing community waiting to move over. The first members were recruited directly from across the Republic side of Darth Malgus, and the guild grew organically from there.

The early growth was much faster than expected. Within the first weeks, the roster expanded into the hundreds, with dozens of guild members regularly online during active hours. At the same time, we began building the parts of the guild that would matter beyond the roster itself: a Discord community, regular guild communication, events, Conquest goals, rewards, guides and a clearer internal rank structure.

We also acquired our guild flagship, the Dawn of Liberty, which became the physical home of The True Republic in-game. The flagship is still a work in progress, and we intend to continue unlocking and decorating it as the guild develops.

By the end of the first month, The True Republic had already become much more than a newly formed guild. It had a community, an identity, its own website and its first major competitive achievements.

What we are building

Our Vision

Our long-term goal is not simply to become one of the largest Republic guilds on Darth Malgus.

Size can be useful, but a large roster by itself does not create a good guild. What matters more is whether people actually enjoy being there, whether members interact with each other, whether there are things happening, and whether the guild gives players a reason to stay.

We want The True Republic to become a stable and recognizable Republic community where players know they can find help, people to play with and something to take part in.

For a returning player, that might mean having people around who can explain how modern SWTOR systems work. For a new player, it might mean being able to ask questions without feeling out of place. For an experienced player, it might mean joining Conquest pushes, guild events, Flashpoints, Operations, world bosses or other organized activities.

Not everyone needs to participate in the same way. Some members enjoy Conquest, some prefer story content, some focus on achievements, crafting, Strongholds or group PvE. The guild should have room for all of them.

What matters is that The True Republic remains a community rather than simply a name above a character.

The principles behind our decisions

Our Values

Community

The guild exists because of the people in it.

We want members to feel comfortable talking, asking questions, joining activities and getting to know the people they play with. Nobody is expected to know everything about SWTOR, and being new or inexperienced is not something that should make someone feel unwelcome.

Respect between guild members is therefore one of the few things we consider genuinely important.

Participation

Participation does not mean that everyone needs to contribute millions of Conquest points or attend every event.

Some people contribute through Conquest. Others organize groups, help people with quests, answer questions, assist newer players, join guild activities or simply help keep the community active. All of those things matter.

We prefer voluntary participation over mandatory activity requirements. When people contribute because they want to be involved, the result is usually a healthier community than one built around obligations.

Contribution and Recognition

Guild ranks and recognition should mean something.

In The True Republic, higher ranks are intended to reflect trust, loyalty, activity and meaningful contribution to the guild. They are not meant to exist simply as titles.

The same applies to leadership. Officers are there to help run the guild, support its members and keep things organized. Rank should represent responsibility as much as status.

Organization Without Pressure

We enjoy having goals.

Conquest is tracked. Events are organized. Contributors are recognized. Guides are created. When there is an opportunity to compete for a planet, we are willing to take it seriously.

At the same time, SWTOR is still a game. We do not want members to feel that logging in comes with a checklist of obligations. The purpose of guild organization is to create more opportunities to enjoy the game, not to make it feel like work.

Building Something That Lasts

One of the goals behind The True Republic is to create something with an identity of its own.

The guild flagship, Discord server, website, guides, events, traditions and recorded history are all part of that.

Individual members will come and go over time, as happens in every MMO, but the guild itself should continue to grow and develop. We want future members to be able to look back and see how The True Republic changed from a newly created guild into the community it eventually becomes.

Recorded as it happened

Our History

  1. The True Republic is founded

The True Republic was officially created on Darth Malgus on 9 August 2026.

At the time, there was no established roster or previous community behind the guild. Recruitment began immediately across Republic space, with the intention of building the guild completely from the ground up.

  2. The first wave of growth

During its first weeks, the guild expanded rapidly.

Hundreds of characters joined the roster, and the number of players online during active periods grew steadily. The Discord server was established, guild communication became more organized, and the first events, rewards and community activities were introduced.

This was also the period when the basic identity and structure of The True Republic began to take shape.

  3. The Dawn of Liberty

The guild acquired its Republic flagship and named it the Dawn of Liberty.

The flagship became the headquarters of The True Republic and an ongoing guild project. Its rooms are being unlocked gradually, and the long-term plan is to turn it into a proper guild home rather than leaving it as an empty functional space.

As the guild grows, the Dawn of Liberty will grow with it.

  4. Our first tracked Conquest

The first properly recorded Conquest week gave us an early idea of what the guild could achieve.

Only 67 characters were eligible for the guild reward during that cycle, yet The True Republic finished with approximately 10.01 million Conquest points.

It was still a modest result compared with the established Conquest guilds on Darth Malgus, but for a guild that had existed for little more than a week, it was a promising start.

  5. Second place on Onderon

The following week showed how quickly the guild had grown.

The True Republic finished the Conquest cycle with approximately 70.31 million points and took second place on Onderon.

The first planetary victory was close, but remained just out of reach.

Even so, this was the first time The True Republic had seriously competed for a planet, and it demonstrated that the guild was already capable of challenging much older and more established communities.

  6. trueswtor.com launches

At the end of August, the guild launched its own website as part of the wider True SWTOR project.

The site gave The True Republic a permanent home outside the game and Discord, with space for guild information, recruitment, events, Conquest records, guides and community resources.

The website is intended to grow alongside the guild rather than remain a static recruitment page.

  7. Our first planetary victory

During Total Galactic War, The True Republic returned to Onderon.

One week earlier, we had finished second. This time, the result was different.

The guild ended the week with approximately 56.264 million Conquest points and finished first on Onderon, earning The True Republic its first planetary conquest victory.

The achievement came less than a month after the guild had been founded.

Onderon therefore became the first planet captured under The True Republic banner and an important part of the guild's early history.

The Dawn of Liberty, The True Republic guild flagship

Our home among the stars

The Dawn of Liberty

The Dawn of Liberty is more than a convenient flagship for guild summons and Conquest invasions.

We see it as the in-game home of The True Republic and as something that should develop together with the community.

The flagship is still being expanded, and there are many rooms left to unlock and decorate. Over time, the plan is to create different functional and social areas while giving the ship a consistent Republic identity.

As new sections are opened and new achievements are earned, the flagship should gradually become a physical record of the guild's progress.

It is one of the projects that will never really be finished, and that is part of the appeal.

Many paths, one community

How We Play

The True Republic is intentionally broad in the kinds of players and activities it supports.

Some members are heavily involved in Conquest and regularly compete for the highest positions on the guild leaderboard. Others prefer Flashpoints, Operations, world bosses, Galactic Events, story content, achievements, exploration, datacrons, crafting or Strongholds.

Some members play every day. Others return to SWTOR for a few evenings each week.

There is no expectation that everyone needs to enjoy the same part of the game.

We are a casual guild in the sense that participation is voluntary and real life always comes first. At the same time, we are not afraid of setting ambitious guild goals when there is enough interest to pursue them.

That balance is an important part of The True Republic.

We want the guild to remain relaxed enough that people enjoy being here, but organized enough that we can achieve something meaningful when we work together.

Across both factions

The True Empire

The True Republic is the primary guild and the main focus of our community.

However, many SWTOR players enjoy characters on both factions. For that reason, we also maintain our Imperial sister guild, The True Empire.

The True Empire exists primarily as a home for the Imperial characters of community members who also play on the Republic side. It allows people to remain part of the same wider community without having to choose between their guild and their Imperial characters.

The Republic remains our main active guild, while The True Empire provides a cross-faction extension of the same community.

The story continues

The Next Chapter

The history of The True Republic is still very short.

The guild was founded only recently, and many of the things we want to achieve are still ahead of us.

There are sections of the Dawn of Liberty still waiting to be unlocked. There are planets we have never conquered, activities we have not yet organized and members we have not met.

Over time, this page will grow with the guild.

New milestones will be added when they are genuinely worth remembering: major Conquest victories, important guild anniversaries, flagship progress, community achievements and other moments that become part of The True Republic's history.

The goal is not to invent a grand story around the guild.

It is to give the real one enough time to develop.

And if The True Republic continues growing the way it started, there should eventually be quite a lot to write about.
