Fast Gear Up: Fresh Level 80 to Item Rating 340

Fresh 80 · Hyde & Zeek fast track

Current for Game Update 7.9.1

Do not upgrade a whole starter set one piece at a time. Push one blue piece to 340, sacrifice it to Hyde & Zeek, then buy reusable 340 modifications for every moddable slot.

Set up your fresh level 80

  • In the Fleet Supplies section, pick up Technological Advancements for Legendary Implants.
  • Complete one Personal Conquest at level 80: 100,000 Conquest Points.
  • Buy and equip a complete green 324 Noble Decurion starter set from the Conquest Gear Vendor.
  • Equip any higher-rating drops you receive so future drops can follow your currently equipped item rating.

Get one blue upgrade target

Your only grind target is one blue Supreme Decurion piece. Boots or gloves are efficient because they are comparatively cheap to buy and upgrade while still carrying a tertiary stat.

  • Master Mode Flashpoints drop blue gear; Veteran Mode Flashpoints can also produce a lucky blue drop.
  • If it does not drop, buy boots or gloves from the Flashpoint Gear Vendor.
  • Deconstruct unwanted non-upgrades for more FP-1 Stabilizers.

Push only that piece to 340

At the Flashpoint Upgrade Vendor, upgrade the same blue item through 324 → 326 → 328 → 330 → 332 → 334 → 336 → 338 → 340.

  • Run Group Finder Flashpoints and complete their weekly missions.
  • Spend FP-1 Stabilizers and credits on this piece only.
  • You can exchange 400 Conquest Commendations for 100 FP-1 Stabilizers at the Conquest Gear Vendor.

Complete Prototype 340

  1. Talk to Hyde in Fleet Supplies and accept Zeek's Deconstruction: 340 Prototype.
  2. Confirm the correct mission is active before touching your gear.
  3. Deconstruct the blue item-rating 340 piece.
  4. Return to Hyde, complete the mission, then open Zeek's inventory.

Build the moddable 340 set

Zeek now sells unlimited item-rating 340 blue armorings, hilts, barrels, mods, and enhancements for credits. Put the correct components into moddable armor, mainhand, and offhand shells.

  • Empty adaptive shells from the Fleet Adaptive Gear Vendor work.
  • Match hilt or barrel type to your weapon; other moddable shells use the component slots shown in their modification window.
  • The unlock is Legacy-wide, making future characters and disciplines much faster.

Finish the non-moddable slots

Hyde & Zeek do not finish your earpiece, two relics, two implants, and tactical. Handle these separately:

  • Use Flashpoint or Operations drops and weekly boxes for the earpiece and relics, then upgrade them or rely on direct upgrade boxes.
  • Complete Technological Advancements and spend Tech Fragments on your two recommended Legendary Implants, eventually upgrading them to 340.
  • Buy the correct tactical for your discipline. A tactical is a build item, not a Hyde & Zeek modification.

Fastest currency priority

  1. Fast group route: Master Mode Flashpoints plus their weeklies.
  2. Easy group route: Veteran Group Finder Flashpoints; deconstruct extras.
  3. Solo fallback: Conquest, Heroics, Dailies, and Dynamic Encounters, then exchange Conquest Commendations for FP-1 Stabilizers.

Artifact 340 without Operations

Community workaround · No Rakata sacrifice

Once Prototype 340 is complete and Zeek sells the blue 340 components, an old purple Ossus shell can satisfy the Artifact mission without farming Operations gear.

  1. Keep Zeek's Deconstruction: 340 Artifact active.
  2. Travel to Ossus.
  3. On Republic side, find Major Pucenisco, the Equipment Vendor in the Jedi Colony.
  4. Buy a purple moddable item-rating 252 belt or armguards. These are preferred because they have only two modification slots.
  5. Remove every old modification from the purple shell.
  6. Buy a blue 340 Armoring and blue 340 Mod from Zeek, then fill every slot in the shell.
  7. If it still displays rating 252, log out and back in. Do not continue until the displayed item rating reads 340.
  8. Deconstruct the resulting purple item-rating 340 piece while the Artifact mission is active.
  9. Return to Hyde & Zeek and turn in the mission.

No Rakata sacrifice is required. Artifact 340 only unlocks purple 340 enhancements; armorings, mods, hilts, and barrels remain blue Prototype purchases.

Result: almost every moddable combat slot jumps directly to 340. Finish earpiece, relics, and Legendary Implants alongside normal play instead of upgrading an entire starter set piece by piece.
